Our Story
Founded by Ben and Lena Rosen on Norfolk Street in 1934, Norfolk began as a small neighborhood hardware store. By listening to our customers and growing alongside our community, we’ve become a fourth-generation, family-owned business serving Greater Boston for nearly a century.
Today, the Norfolk family of brands includes Norfolk Hardware & Home Center, Norfolk Kitchen & Bath, and Norfolk Multifamily. While our business has grown, our name still honors our original location—and our commitment remains the same: dependable support, local expertise, and the values our customers have trusted for generations.
Our History
1934
Founded as a plumbing supply store on Norfolk Street in Boston.
1950s – 1980s
Expanded our product offering to include general hardware and cabinetry
1984
Moved to our present location at 981 Morton Street in Mattapan
2019
Completed a full store remodel and celebrated our 85th anniversary
