Our Story

Norfolk has been serving the Boston area since 1934. We started as a small plumbing-supply hardware store on Norfolk Street in Mattapan, founded by Ben and Lena Rosen. As customers asked for more, we grew—adding paint, window treatments, building materials, and everything else people needed to complete a job without running all over town.

What hasn’t changed is why we grew: to be the most convenient place in Boston to find the right product and the right help.

Norfolk Today

We’ve come a long way since 1934, but our goal is the same: save customers time and make projects smoother.

Today, our Boston location includes more than 40,000 square feet of retail, showroom, and warehouse space. Having that footprint right in the city lets us keep millions of dollars of inventory on hand—so you can get what you need when you need it, not weeks later.

Our main company offices, shipping, and manufacturing departments are based in Braintree.We’re proud to employ over 200 local team members and serve tens of thousands of customers every year—from homeowners and DIYers to commercial contractors, housing authorities, and property management teams throughout New England.

Kitchen & Bath Growth

In the early 1980s, Norfolk began offering kitchen cabinets. That step became a major part of our evolution and opened the door to a whole new level of design and project support.

Today, Norfolk Kitchen & Bath includes six showrooms across New England, located in:

  • Framingham

  • Manchester, NH

  • Nashua, NH

  • Salem, NH

Together with Norfolk Hardware & Home Center, we support projects across New England and beyond—while still staying local at heart.
